Solar Integration on a Heritage-Listed Building in Lausanne
Located in the heart of Lausanne, this building is classified Level 4 in the Vaud Cantonal Architectural Inventory, requiring a particularly careful and respectful approach. The objective was to design a photovoltaic installation that integrates seamlessly with the building’s volume, composition and function, while contributing to the architectural identity of its surroundings.
The project includes the installation of 27 photovoltaic panels, delivering a total capacity of 13 kWp. A custom panel layout was developed to optimize the available roof space while ensuring a discreet and harmonious integration. The photovoltaic blocks were designed with snow guards directly integrated into the panel structure, combining safety, performance and architectural consistency.
The installation is complemented by a smart EV charging station, enabling the client to charge their electric vehicle exclusively using the surplus solar energy produced by the system, further enhancing self-consumption and energy efficiency.
